By looking at the title, u can guess the thing that i want to share here. I want to talk about a disease! Why? Juz read it..
Spinocerebellar degeneration disease is actually a type of inherited disease. It happens cuz the cerebellum (the red one) is degenerated so, the impulse cannot reach the muscle to move. From day to day, the person who suffer this disease lost the ability to move, to stand, to hold things and even to talk! Scary right? And the most scariest thing is that it doesn't have any cure (setakat ni la) So, be thankful to Allah cuz we're still healthy, we can talk, we can walk, we can do anything that we want to. Allhamdulillah! All praises to Allah!
Actually, I got the idea to write this aft I watch a japanese drama, one litre of tears. Maybe some of you know about this. It's a story about a girl who suffer this disease. At fiz, she couldn't accept it, but i donno how she could accept it cuz i didn't watch the whole story!
The best thing about this girl is that, she had a very high determination to live. Before she died, she wrote a lot of articles to help the people that suffer the same disease like her. She gave motivation to all those people to continue living as long as they could live. She contributed to the others.
And, actually, from the story, I can see how high a patient's hope towards a doc. They hope doc can cure their disease. But, actually, who cure the disease? No one can cure the disease except for Allah! He's the One who cure, human can make effort but the rest, only He decide. I believe that all the diseases have the medication, it juz dat we didn't found it yet.
So, the main point that I want to say is, be thankful if u r chosen as the one who'll be involved in health and sciences world. Who choose u? Allah is the one who choose you to be in that world. Doc, nurse, pharmacist, health consultant and anyone who work in the field, be thankful because Allah gives u opportunity to serve for the country. You got the chances to make a lot of good things! Help people, give them hope to live, it's very noble! Isn't it?
To all future doctors, our journey is still very, very long..we also never know whether we can be in that journey for the rest of our life or, maybe one day we might change our mind. Who knows? Or maybe, we will die before we can graduate. Only Allah know what will happen in the future. The only thing that we can do right now is that, we have to do our responsibilty which are :
1. Be a caliph (leader) "Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth."...."(2:30)
2. Serve Allah "I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me" (51:56)
Being a caliph doesn't mean that we have to lead people. If we are able to lead ourselves toward goodness, it's so good. How do I relate this with being a doc? Ok, let's make it easy, we study hard to be a doc, but at the same time, we learn the islamic knowledge so that we can share it with the patients. We can't make the doc as our goal, but our aim is to attain the blessing from Allah by what? Being a doc..(actually, i'm reminding myself cuz right now i feel like super lazy to study..) InsyaAllah, aft this, I'll continue my work.
